Granite is a rock. In homes and commercial buildings, you will find it on worktops and floors. Also very common in bathrooms.
It is perfectly safe until it is damaged. When damaged, it produces granite dust which is dangerous to inhale. If you have broken a granite tile or other area in your home, you should always have it replaced.
